Most lotteries give prizes to unknown people who never entered a contest or purchased a ticket or anything but have only an email address…

    NOT!

Hoax. Do not send any personal details to any unsolicited mail. Did you enter such a contest? If not then it is guaranteed hoax or scam. Delete it.

I have two questions for you.
    1. How can you win anything you did not enter?
    2. Why are you opening mail from people you do not know?

It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money.
    Do not respond to it.
Report it to yahoo, so they are aware.
Forward to or (If it involves a lot of money)
And for your E-mail safety, remember:
Never open E-mail unless you are absolutely sure of who sent it, treat ALL others as spam.
Never give your personal information out to anyone, be it E-mail, snail mail, phone calls or at your front door.
