The “church” that is promoting bingo games and casino trips is not the same “church” that is opposed to gambling.

    they do?

the church has its own scandals and issues to settle. the irony here is that they themselves should serve as role models for the people.

That’s just the catholics and they’re just effed up with their doctrine anyway. but bingo (at least the way they play) isn’t gambling. Also, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a vice. everyone needs one and even coffee’s a vice. it’s about not being wise with your money that makes gambling a no-no for christians

You cannot blame the holy church, only those irresponsible committee members who could have organised those games or casinos trips by using Church’s name to influence the comminity.

Those idiots are tarnishing the good name of the holy church which forbid any kinds of gamblings.

That depends on the church. Besides it isn’t gambling that is wrong it’s the love of filthy lucre.
    Money.
If you feel you have to gamble or trust that that will get you something you deserve or in other words replace God’s blessings then you are in trouble.
Where does it say Good Christians should have no vices. I am not perfect but I am forgiven.

The church is all about money. Churches are money making organizations and the sooner the people realize this and abanon the church, the sooner we can move on to improve things.

You forgot to mention that some “churches” sponsor fairs even within their church/school grounds that not only have areas for bingo games and other games of chance but they also have a room for “adults” who would like to unwind and drink, smoke cigarettes and do other vices.

Anyway, the “church” you are mentioning in this question is usually the Roman Catholic Church. And it does not represent all the other Christian Churches that DO NOT run bingo socials, casino trips and do not have drinking and smoking areas within their church sponsored events.

So you have to go ask your local bishop about that. Or question really why you believe what you think you believe.
