How fast should a highschool freshman run a 40 yard dash?

I’m a freshman in highschool. I play tailback and i run a 4.9 40 is that good? I also want to lower my time anyone got any tips?

    4.9 is decent for a freshmen tail back. its doable. to increase speed work on sprints with a parachute and run some hills, both up and down helps.

    For a tailback, I would suggest a 5.1 to 4.7.

    That’s very good. I personally ran a 5.19 when I was in 8th grade and I’m considered pretty fast in my grade.

    4.8-5.2 is good.
    remember speed is not the only thing, I like to work on be better mentally and then physically.
