Any activity that is done in control, and positive self image, is good.

IF an activity causes a person to loose control over themselves they are sinning. If an addiction prevents ones ‘normal’ activities they are lost.
The most common out of control are gambling and drugs – because of the bodily and material damages – if one can not be with family or friends due to an addiction or loss of positive image they are sinning. Eating 2 dozen donuts and hating oneself for loss of control is just as damaging. Destructive self image over education is also sinning. We are supposed to love ourselves and others.

Return to positive self image is difficult but possible. Returning to being in control over ones life is the goal.

Bingo played with the right mental framework is a fun family outing. A player there with the rent money or hoping to win to buy food for children is a lost soul. Sitting alone and grumbling one is missing the point – being with friends and laughing, sharing time together is the point.

I thought beano was used for gas lol. I know a new game. four or five can play it. We all gather around the table and one lets out gas and the one that smells it first “Shouts” BINGO

Interesting….I had that discussion one time. I didn’t see anything wrong with it because i looked at as just a game.
I realized that the problem was that I could stumble someone else who maybe did not have my control over the game.

By their association with me they could be led to believe that it was only a game that you could get money like you get free games on a pinball machine.
Many have lost their houses gotten divorces killed and many more bad thing because of greed.
If you can control it without influencing some one then it is between you and your conscience.

They shouldn’t, considering that the bible states that you should “be a good steward of your money”. =\

Only if it does not become a vice and takes over all other parts of your life. Gambling can sometimes become a god for people.

Especially Asians and Catholics. Its true and does not mean that I am bigoted. So if you report me, shame on you!

The poor and the elderly become victims of the inducements that are held out to purchase lottery tickets on the remote chance of winning a substantial prize. It is sad to see governments now promoting what they once enacted laws to forbid.

Getting something for nothing without having to earn it. You really think Jesus would approve?

Many do not.

And many oppose GOVERNMENT RUN LOTTERIES because they are a TAX ON THE POOR.

Everyone does that, commone sence.

I personally do not put trust in lotteries and I certainly don’t gamble. We are to trust in God for our daily needs. Gamblers never really win.
