40 weeks pregnant. What does it mean when your stomach get rock hard and there is pressure?

Beck asked:

I am 40 weeks pregnant and my stomach gets rock hard and I get some pressure in my lower abdomen, but sometimes the pressure happens even when my stomach isn’t hard. Also, the pressure is more intense when im walking or standing, and the baby is moving a lot. Does this mean labor is near? my due date is Saturday, December 12.

most def the baby is pressing against the front of you stomach which stretches your skin thats why its so hard this usually happens when they move that explains why you think you have to go to the bathroom cuz their pressing against your bladder the bigger the baby grows the more pressure is going to be on your bladder

yes it sounds like labor is near. They could be contractions, or just pre-labor Braxton Hicks contractions.

Sounds like you’re body and your baby are both preparing for labor and delivery soon! Try to walk alot, to allow gravity to help things along. Drink plenty of water, get lots of good rest while you’re still able to, and make sure your bags are packed and ready for the hospital!

Have you had any sudden urges to clean things you normally don’t pay much attention to?? Any sudden surges of extra energy??

    Best Wishes & Congratulations!
